Shipping is facing a fundamental transformation: by 2050, greenhouse gas emissions from European shipping are to be reduced by 80%. At the same time, environmental regulations in ports and coastal waters are continuously tightening. In response to these challenges, we develop and produce sustainable components for marine fuels from industrial residues.

The production of biodiesel from residues generates high-energy by-products. We process these materials at our production facility into a high-quality marine fuel component. BIO-OIL+ is therefore a residue of a residue.

Waste-based marine fuel components offer decisive advantages: they require no additional agricultural land, enable a drastic reduction of the climate impact by over 90% compared to conventional marine fuels, and can be used as a blending component in existing ship engines without technical modifications. Through a multi-stage processing procedure at our chemical-physical processing plant in Bokel, we remove harmful salts almost completely and produce low-ash fuels that meet high quality requirements. Transparently verified environmental benefits are ensured by recognised certification systems such as REDcert. The entire supply chain is monitored and a detailed certificate is produced for every batch.

These marine fuels consume only minimal additional resources up to their point of use. Following the substantial investment in plant expansion in 2024, we can produce more efficiently and develop a wide range of fuel variants tailored to customer specifications. Our comprehensive quality management system guarantees that you receive reliable, requirements-compliant fuels whose use makes an important contribution to the decarbonisation of shipping.
