Bokel Production Facility
Our Processing Plant in Bokel
In Bokel (Sprakensehl), Lower Saxony, BaeckTrade GmbH has been operating a production facility with an eventful history since 2013. Originally conceived as a grain distillery, the plant was gradually converted into a biodiesel production facility between 2002 and 2007.
After the initial lease takeover on 1 January 2013, our possibilities expanded significantly in 2015: with official approval, we were able to add the chemical-physical processing of certain wastes and residues to our existing activities in biofuel precursors and intermediates. The acquisition of the plant on 1 January 2019 marked a further milestone in our company development.
The plant is now operated under the name BaeckTrade GmbH NL Bokel and is registered with the municipality of Hankensbüttel as a dependent branch. Since 1 January 2019, BaeckTrade GmbH is also the owner of the plant. Since the takeover, the existing operating permit has been extended in several steps in close cooperation with the Braunschweig Trade Supervision Authority. In September 2015, the authority granted permission to process certain residues through chemical-physical treatment in addition to biofuel production. In the second major application procedure in 2021, the expansion of the plant with tank field 70, the IBC warehouse and loading stations 2 and 4 was approved, along with the authorisation of additional raw materials.
Today we use the modernised plant for processing wastes and residues from oleochemistry and biodiesel production. Our technology portfolio encompasses various processes including distillation, washing, neutralisation, separation, filtration and mixing – processes we continuously optimise.
Quality assurance is our top priority: all incoming and outgoing materials undergo strict quality control in our in-house laboratory.
What began in 2013 with just two employees has grown into a team of more than ten qualified specialists, who ensure the smooth operation of our production facility through their expertise and dedication.
The next plant expansion is already in planning – a sign of our steady growth and future orientation.
