BaeckTrade GmbH, founded in 2006, is a mid-sized company based in the Lüneburg Heath with its office in Hetendorf and its production facility in Sprakensehl-Bokel. With a team of more than 25 employees, BaeckTrade specialises in the processing and marketing of residues from the chemical industry and food production.
Through its subsidiaries BaeckTrade Fuels GmbH (2014) and BaeckTrade Biokraftstoff GmbH (2020), and especially through the step-by-step expansion of the operating permit for the Bokel facility, the company has continuously expanded its portfolio. In 2015, the competent authority approved the processing of certain residues through chemical-physical treatment in addition to biofuel production. A second major application procedure in 2021 resulted in approval for a substantial expansion of the facility and the authorisation of additional raw materials.

Production Facility Bokel
On 1 January 2013, BaeckTrade GmbH took over the operation of a biodiesel plant in Bokel. Since 2019, BaeckTrade GmbH has also been the owner of the facility, which has since been operated under the name BaeckTrade GmbH NL Bokel.
Since the takeover, the existing operating permit has been extended in several steps in close cooperation with the Braunschweig Trade Supervision Authority. In September 2015, the authority approved the processing of certain residues through chemical-physical treatment alongside biofuel production. In the second major application procedure in 2021, the expansion of the plant with tank field 70, the IBC warehouse and loading stations 2 and 4 was approved.
We use this facility to process residues from oleochemistry and biodiesel production. These material blends are treated using various methods such as distillation, neutralisation, separation, filtration and blending. All incoming and outgoing deliveries are subject to quality control in our laboratory.

In this way, we help our customers increase profitability, conserve resources and operate more sustainably through the use of alternative raw materials.
BaeckTrade was founded in 2006 in the Bäckermann family home. As the company grew, we moved in 2009 into a former agricultural building typical of the Lüneburg Heath. At this location – which originally housed cattle and pig stalls – more than ten commercial and scientific staff now work together. From here they manage product marketing and oversee production in Bokel.
